Nottingham - City Information

Enjoy a fantastic WOW Weekend in the historic City of Nottingham.

Famous for its hectic nightlife and the seven girls to every fella myth.

Nottingham isn’t just about nightlife, although it is a major attraction. There is the Medieval Nottingham Castle (The bulk of the castle was lost in a fire but it still boasts a magnificent Manor house and museum), Greens Windmill, Sherwood Forest, the truly magical Robin Hood Experience and the Galleries of Justice.

Nottingham is jam packed with things to do, so if you’re looking for a weekend to get away from it all this might not be the ideal location for you.

The City centre is absolutely buzzing as people from all over the country descend upon the 50 bars and 20 Nightclubs all within close proximity of one another.

Nottingham is without a doubt the party capital of Britain.

However you’re here for golf so don’t get too carried away with all the nocturnal activities that go on – yeah right!

Nottingham Accommodation

Here at WOW Weekends we choose our accommodation very carefully to ensure our customers have the best weekend possible.

We use a selection of tried and tested 3 Star Hotels, the bedrooms are twins with en suite bathrooms and furnished to a high standard.

Cooked breakfast is supplied on both mornings and a late bar is also available to residents.

Details: This hilly meadowland course is very well maintained the whole year through, with rolling fairways it will provide an excellent test of your game. Natural hazards seem to of been intentionally placed just to force mistakes and tough approach shots to well protected greens are all part of this quality course.

Club: Wollaton Golf Course

Details: Wollaton Park is also home to Wollaton Hall Stately Home, set on flat land it’s a truly beautiful course. The scenery here is second to none and you may well be accompanied on your round by a herd of deer. The fairways are lined with well maintained trees and tight approach shots to wonderfully positioned greens will test your accuracy. This course comes very highly recommended.

Club: Cotgrave Golf Club – Lakeside course, Parkland course & Coverts course

Details: 3 x 9 hole course individually designed to challenge every aspect of the game. The front nine holes are situated around man made ponds, a lake and a canal. On every hole water hazards will come into play, but many are hidden from the tee! The middle nine situated in beautiful parkland with huge bunkers and wide fairways. The back nine are set amongst hedgerows and coppices requiring well placed shots. A brilliantly, wonderful variety of golf.

Club: Ramsdale Park Golf Club – High course, Low course.

Details: Regarded as one of the best 9 holes of golf in the country the High course is a challenging test for even the most established golfer. A relatively flat front nine followed by an undulating back nine a very tough and demanding round of golf is sure to be had. The low course is a very short nine which comprises of contoured and well bunkered greens that’s ideal for beginners and established golfers alike. It’s well worth going round this excellent challenge twice to make up your 18 holes.

Details: This heathland course is exceptionally attractive to play on with the surrounding forests mature birch and pine trees giving the course bagfuls of character. This course presents a very tough challenge with the back 9 being particularly testing, especially the par 4’s that have well bunkered greens and very tricky approach shots.

Club: Ruford Park Golf Club
Par: 70
Yards: 6155
Details: Attractively designed and very well maintained this picturesque parkland course has some very challenging holes. The 17th is 173 yards over water and the 596 yard 13th is one of the toughest holes you’ll find anywhere! This excellent course offers a challenge to players of all abilities.
