Enjoy an amazing WOW Weekend in the historic city of Exeter, a hugely popular tourist and conference destination where the inner bailey of Exeter Castle, built in 1068 and the can still be seen today.
Much remains of both the Roman and Medieval walls of the city where many choice streets and buildings have also managed to survive despite the blitz.
You can take the opportunity of walking in the footsteps of 2 of Britain’s most notorious Naval Officers Drake and Raleigh.
Exeter Cathedral with its twin Norman towers is England’s finest example of decorated Gothic architecture, it boasts the longest Gothic vault in Europe - superbly atmospheric. Words fail to do it justice, and a visit is a must!
The Guildhall in Exeter High Street is a medieval building and one of the oldest still in use, and has served as the centerpiece of Exeter’s civic life for more than 800 years.
The Underground Passages - Britain’s only ancient City Passageways open to the public, were first devised to bring water into the heart of the city at the start of the 13th century. They can be visited today, little changed since the days when they were built. An ideal destination for that occasional rainy day.
Exeter Quayside is a 10 minutes walk from the bustling shops, cafes, pubs, clubs and bars that can all be found at close proximity in the city centre that boasts an energetic, vibrant nightlife. Exeter’s historic quayside has a charming mix of past and present. River and canal trips can be taken from the quayside, providing a wonderful cure for that Sunday morning hangover.
